Let’s say you’re just getting started on eBay. You’ve opened up your account and now you’re looking for something to sell. If you’ve already followed our advice to sell the stuff around your house you may be wondering what to sell next. Sure, your attic and closets may be clean, and you’ve gotten rid of the clutter, but now what?

It’s important to recognize that the lifeblood of your ebay business is products. If you don’t have any products to sell, then you don’t have an eBay business. You need products. How would you like an unlimited supply?

If so, then you should consider becoming an eBay Trading Assistant. A Trading Assistant is someone who “assists” another person sell an item on eBay. This means that you’ll take care of everything related to selling for that other person. You’ll take the pictures, write the descriptions, set the pricing and everything. So if your Aunt Gertrude wants you to sell her antiques on eBay, the you’ll be a Trading Assistant to her.

Now since your Aunt Gertrude is so dear to you, you might do this for free. For other people in your community, you’d likely charge them a commission for your time and energy. Or, you could buy their products and resell them yourself.

It’s that simple to have an unlimited supply of products to sell. Everyone has something cluttering up their house that they want to sell. And if you can help them make a quick buck, why wouldn’t they pay you a small portion of that? According to eBay, most people have over $1000 of items just lying around that they could sell. Not only will you help them get started, but you’ll have product (from one person) for many months to come.

Ok, so you do want to be a Trading Assistant. There are two ways to do it. First, you can do it the “official way” by registering on eBay. This will advertise you in eBay’s official “Trading Assistant Directory.” However, to be put in their directory, you need to be aware of a few things. First, you need to have 100 feedback ratings, with 98% of them positive. Also, you need to have sold 10 items in the previous 3 months. Your eBay account must also be in good standings. For the official details visit eBay at www.tradingassistant.com

If you don’t meet eBay’s requirements, however, don’t let that discourage you. You can still be a Trading Assistant “unofficially.” eBay can’t stop you from helping other people sell on eBay. The only real difference between being “offical” or “unofficial” is whether or not you can use eBay’s official Trading Assistant logo and be listed in the directory of Trading Assistants (so others can go onto eBay and find you). But regardless of whether you choose to be official or not, it’s always up to you to find who you can help.

A Trading Assistant needs to promote their services in order to find products to sell. You can do this by getting word of mouth buzz happening about you. Make sure that everybody knows what you do. Talk to your friends and neighbors and ask them if they need anything sold on eBay. The more people know about you, the more successful you’ll become. Post flyers. Put an ad in the paper. Whatever you can do to get people aware of you, the better.

The bottom line is that there is no end of products to sell on eBay. With a little creativity, you can be the “go-to” person for everything eBay related.

Over the years online shopping has basically become second nature to the majority of the population. However, I still hear my fair share of horror stories involved with online purchases, especially when it comes to electronics. This is rather surprising, considering how far ecommerce has come, but you still need to use a certain level of caution.

Basically you are pretty safe purchasing electronics from most of the big online retail stores (walmart.com, bestbuy.com, staples.com, and so on). However, it is places like craiglist.org and eBay that you have to be a bit more cautious about, at least when purchasing electronics. But know this: these are probably the 2 cheapest places you will ever find on the internet for the most part.

Since craigslist is quite a bit different than eBay, and generally does not have many electronics listed on it, we will just give advice for eBay. So with that said, when using eBay, the first (and probably most important) thing to look for, is the user feedback rating, which is prominently displayed at the top right side of the auction page(s). basically if they do not have 99% positive feedback or more, then move on, as it is not worth the risk. It really is that simple.

Another important thing to consider when buying on eBay, is the return policy, which is always listed in the auction details. Certain items, such as the Chinese made electric airsoft rifles, for example, have a really high defect rate, so knowing the return policy BEFORE you buy is highly recommended. Also, look for the item location in the top right of the auction screen; this will tell you where the item is being shipped from, which determines how fast you will get it.

Lastly, be sure to fully read an auction description before you make a purchase. Unfortunately eBay is rather notorious for having sellers that use somewhat (or sometimes downright) misleading auction titles, especially when it comes to electronics. Basically just be sure that there are no hidden surprises buried within the details of an auction description (especially the longer ones). For example, look for defects or flaws in a product, which is rarely ever mentioned in the auction title. In other words, it is just a matter of common sense, and reading the fine print; if you follow this simple rule, you will be safe 99% of the time or more.

This article was brought to you by internet veteran, William Elmiric, who has been securely shopping online for well over a decade now. When it comes to purchasing electronics from eBay, follow his advice, and you are sure to be safe 99% of the time or more. Just follow his sound advice given in the examples above and you will be safe.

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some revenue on the Internet. Affiliate marketing allows everyone the chance to turn a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing opportunities are simple to enter and implement and pay commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now joining this industry model.

Nevertheless, like all businesses, there are lots of dangers in the affiliate marketing industry. Committing some of the most frequent mistakes will cost the marketer a large portion of the profit they should be making, which is why it is better to avoid them than be sorry later.

Mistake Number 1: Selecting the Wrong Company.

Most people want to earn from affiliate marketing as quickly as they can. In their rush to be part of a program, they often pick a popular, flash product. This is the type of product that the company thinks is ?hot?. They choose a product that is in high demand without really wondering if the product appeals to themselves. This is not a very wise move.

Instead of just jumping on the bandwagon, try to select a product that you are truly interested in. For any enterprise to be successful, you have to take some time to plan your course of action.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if it is in demand. It is not easy to make money advertising something only you care about.

Mistake Number 2: Joining Too Many Affiliate Schemes.

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you could be tempted to join lots oif of affiliate programs to endeavor to increase the earnings you will be getting. Indeed, you may think that there is nothing wrong with being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that sounds like a great way to get multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple schemes and attempting to market them all at the same time, will preclude you from concentrating on any one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate scheme will not be not realized and the income created will not precisely be as titanic as you were thinking that they would. The best means to get the best outcome, is to join just one scheme that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting the products enthusiastically. When you see that it is making a reasonable profit, then perhaps you can join another affiliate program.

The procedure is to take it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking really bright and it looks like affiliate marketing will be staying for a long time too.

Mistake Number 3: Not Purchasing the Product or Using the Service.

As an affiliate, your main purpose is to successfully and persuasively advertise a product or service and to locate clientele. For you to realize this purpose, you must be able to communicate to the customers that that particular product or service is worth having. It is therefore tricky for you to do this if you yourself have not tried these things out. Therefore, you will fail to promote and recommend them persuasively. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to buy any of what you are selling.

Try the goods or service personally before you sign up as an affiliate to check if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done this, then you are one of the credible and living witnesses aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your clientele will then be aware of the sincerity in you and this will trigger them to try it out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers make these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. Do not fall into the same trap, do everything you can to avoid making the same mistakes.

Time is the key. Take the time to examine your marketing stratagem and check if you are on the right track. If done correctly, you will increase your affiliate marketing scheme profits.

The early days of using a cash register and pen and notebook for accounting and processing transactions are no longer an effective means of keeping up with today’s advancements in business technology. In order to stay competitive businesses have to adapt and change with emerging technologies. A technological advancement that businesses are now using is the point-of-sale (POS) system. They are now realizing the many benefits POS have on their businesses.

The following are the many benefits of utilizing point of sale systems:

1. POS systems provide a business with a real-time detailed report of sales. This allows businesses to assess what products are being sold and what products are lagging in sales. The business can then implement marketing strategies to boost sales of the popular products. They will also know in real-time what is not selling so they can decide whether or not to order that product. A POS system provides the latest sales reports for the day, week, month, or year.

2. POS allows for improved customer service. Transactions are processed much quicker, item that are scanned for their price are accurate which lessens sales discrepancies.

There is also a wide selection of methods to take payments such as credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, etc.

3. POS provides an efficient method of managing inventory. By being able to view in real time what is selling, they will be able to reorder products that are running low. POS software will also let you know when you need to reorder a product. Businesses can also keep track of the time of day that certain products are selling so they can arrange marketing displays around peak selling times. As well, businesses will spend less time on paperwork, accounting, inventory management, sales record keeping, as well as managing such programs as marketing, special advertising programs, loyalty programs, discount programs, and much more.

4. POS allows for the management of gift cards, coupons, and loyalty programs. This is effective way of monitoring the program and keeping track of the success of the programs.

5. POS systems and software is easy to learn. Most POS sellers will train staff and management on how to use the system. It is also easy to install and maintain. As well, POS software can be integrated into other applications so that all areas of business management can be viewed in one central place. It gives the user better control of the business. As well, technical support is only a phone call away.

6. POS retail software makes it easier to keep track of customer personal information, staff payroll, customer billing and shipping, vendor listings, and inventory management.

The many benefits of point of sale systems make it an essential business investment. The type of retail software a small business chooses depends on the type of business, size of the business, amount of sales, and the type and amount of inventory.

Point of sale systems allow for better management of a business, improve customer satisfaction, and helps increase sales. With POS, businesses are able to run a more effective and efficient operation.

Many people already know that fluorescent lighting is the best way to conserve energy. Going this route is also advantageous for people so that they can gain a better financial control of their electric bills. It’s certainly become a trend wherein lots of people are contributing to the energy efficiency vogue. However, people are still asking questions on whether it’s more efficient to leave fluorescent lights permanently on or not. Concerns also rise especially when it’s about having many fluorescent lights in just one area. There are other issues and that’s why this article will try to focus on these questions. Read on for a more comprehensive view on this matter.

Warming-up Time

One question often asked is whether or not fluorescent lights use more energy every time they are turned on. This refers to the warm-up period and people actually want to know if this process wastes energy or not. This is actually not a question, because it is inaccurate. However, there is some truth to the matter, because studies do prove that starting up a fluorescent light does use more energy after it has been turned on.

Leaving It On

Although more energy is used, it is not a large amount and that means leaving fluorescent lights on will not save energy. More energy is wasted by leaving on a light for a long period of time, than turning the light on and off. Leaving it on will also lower the lifespan.

On and Off

Another concern that many users of fluorescent lights have is whether or not the lifespan is affected by frequently turning the light on and of. This is definitely a valid concern and it is also true for all types of lights, not just fluorescent ones. This has been proven by studies and so if you want your fluorescent lights to last longer, don’t constantly turn them on and off.

Energy Saver Bulbs

There are new designs of fluorescent lights that are even more energy efficient compared to the conventional fluorescent lights you see almost everywhere. Consider purchasing these kinds of fluorescent lamps so that you can be assured of total efficiency. Below are 2 examples:

Compact Fluorescent Lamps: Compact fluorescent lamps are designed to replace the old incandescent lights. Their plugging ends are shaped much like incandescent bulbs and can easily fit into any bulb fixture.

Electrodeless Lamps: Electrodeless lamps were basically designed to have a longer lifespan than most other fluorescent lights. True to its name, these lamps do not have electrodes in them. Fluorescent lights all basically burn out because of the electrodes; and removing these makes the lamps last longer.

Here are some concluding tips on fluorescent lighting before you go: Always turn your lights off if you don’t plan to use it. Also, when you’re buying fluorescents, make sure that you compare the price, quality, and wattage output of each lamp design prior to purchase so you can be assured of total energy efficiency.

Today, Directors of smaller technology companies are looking for ways to cope with the dramatic changes in the commercial landscape. Everywhere we look we hear of cutbacks and falling profits. The media love the uncertainty!

In an economic downturn such as this one, many companies will fall behind and many will fail, but there are always those that beat the odds and come out triumphant.

The winners of this economy rat-race will be the ones who do not let themselves get bogged down by the media and keep a positive attitude.

Although recession brings mostly thoughts of doom and gloom to most peoples minds, there are some opportunities. The companies that keep on pushing their advertising and marketing campaigns will be the ones that come out on top of the competition as was clearly demonstrated in the 1991 recession.

Strategies to Guide Your Business to Success:

The following strategies have been taken from 30 years worth of experience in the technology field and will help your business to rise above the competition at the other end of this recession.

Seek guaranteed survival strategies.

Find sure methods of boosting sales.

Bring in some non-executive directors with ample experience.

Prevent your competition from taking over your customer base.

The Entrepreneur’s Manifesto: – The UK faces one of its biggest tests for years – to be able to generate the wealth necessary to provide the government with the income needed to repay the massive recessionary debt.

Most companies in the technology industry are not differentiated in the customers mind by their products or solutions, but the quality and value they receive in your service.

In the minds of the consumer, most technology companies are almost grouped together as they tend to release similar products. Once one company has made the technological advancement, it wont be long before they are all selling it. For this reason, value for the customer lies not in what the product does, because they could get a similar product from many different places, but in the value you can offer them outside the inherent features of the product.

The purpose of this guide is to assist new members in sourcing products to sell things using eBay, Auction or Paypal. I often see new members asking what to sell and how to source products to sell.

Find a couple of supply sources for your products so that you won’t be tied down with one source of supply. Here to list some places to source products.

Garage Sales

Garage sales can be a great opportunity to pick up potentially valuable items selling for pennies. The best idea is to look through the morning papers as soon as they arrive. Make a list of items you would like to find and the maximum amount you would pay to make a profit. Plan your route to make most efficient use of your time so that you are not doubling back. Garage sales can be useful sources, but serious sellers don’t rely on garage sales as their sole provider.

Liquidation sales

Check your newspapers and look for sales in your area. Is it any liquidation sales in your area? Liquidation sales are a fantastic way of finding brand-name items at a big discounts. Most of the time liquidation sales take place for legitimate reasons such as company bankruptcy, store relocation and so on. Make sure the products are suitable selling online. Liquidation sales are a great way to source products to sell, but they can’t be relied upon to restock the shelves.

Clearance stores

At certain times of the year, most major stores will have a stock clearance sale. Sometimes you can buy goods 50% below the regular retail value or even below a good wholesale price in clearance sales. If you know the store is going to have clearance sales regularly, then this can be one method of getting stock.

Wholesalers

What is the place to source products? Wholesalers are the most trustworthy method of sourcing items. You can find wholesalers from directory. Directories remove the risk of dealing with illegal wholesalers and give you some peace of mind when dealing with wholesalers and manufacturers from China.

Anybody thinking about training for the IT sector will soon realise that there are a diverse range of courses available to them. Prior to getting started, seek out a training company that has advisors, so you can be educated on the type of work your course will lead you to. You may well discover job roles you didn’t know about. Training ranges from Microsoft User Skills to Databases, Programming, Networking and Web Design. There is a huge amount of choice and so it’s probably best to talk through your options with an industry expert before you confirm the course you want: the last thing you want to do is learn about a subject for a job you’d actually hate!

Because there are such a lot of low cost, simple to follow training programs and help, you’re sure to find something that will get you to your destination.

Many folks don’t catch on to what information technology is doing for all of us. It is stimulating, innovative, and means you’re doing your bit in the gigantic wave of technology affecting everyones lives in the 21st century. We’re barely starting to understand how all this change will affect us. The way we interrelate with the rest of the world will be inordinately affected by technology and the web.

A regular IT employee throughout Britain can demonstrate that they get considerably more money than his or her counterpart outside of IT. Standard IT wages are hard to beat nationally. It’s no secret that there is a great UK-wide demand for trained and qualified IT technicians. It follows that as growth in the industry shows little sign of contracting, it appears this pattern will continue for the significant future.

Those that are drawn to this type of work are often very practical, and don’t always take well to classrooms, and endless reading of dry academic textbooks. If this is putting you off studying, go for more modern interactive training, where learning is video-based. Studies have consistently confirmed that becoming involved with our studies, to utilise all our senses, is much more conducive to long-term memory.

Top of the range study programs now offer interactive CD and DVD ROM’s. Instructor-led tutorials will mean you’ll learn your subject by way of the demonstrations and explanations. Knowledge can then be tested by interacting with the software and practicing yourself. It’s wise to view examples of the courseware provided before you purchase a course. The minimum you should expect would be videoed instructor demonstrations and a variety of audio-visual and interactive sections.

Opt for physical media such as CD or DVD ROM’s if possible. This then avoids all the potential pitfalls with internet connection failure and issues with signal quality.

Beware of putting too much emphasis, as many people do, on the training course itself. Training is not an end in itself; you’re training to become commercially employable. Stay focused on what it is you want to achieve. It’s common, for example, to obtain tremendous satisfaction from a year of studying and then spend 20 miserable years in a tiresome job role, simply because you did it without the correct research when it was needed – at the start.

It’s a good idea to understand the expectations of your industry. Which precise certifications you’ll need and how you’ll build your experience level. Spend some time considering how far you wish to progress your career as it may present a very specific set of qualifications. Before setting out on a particular learning course, you’d be well advised to chat over specific career needs with an experienced advisor, so as to be sure the study programme covers all that is required.

Consider the points below in detail if you’re inclined to think that old marketing ploy of examination guarantees seems like a good idea:

Obviously it isn’t free – you’re still coughing up for it – it’s just been included in your package price. It’s well known in the industry that when trainees fund their relevant examinations, one after the other, they will be much more likely to pass first time – since they’re aware of their payment and therefore will put more effort into their preparation.

Go for the best offer you can find at the time, and avoid college mark-up fees. In addition, it’s then your choice where to do the examinations – which means you can stay local. Including money in your training package for examinations (plus interest – if you’re financing your study) is madness. Why fill a company’s coffers with extra money of yours simply to help their cash-flow! There are those who hope that you won’t get round to taking them – then they’ll keep the extra money. The majority of organisations will require you to sit pre-tests and prohibit you from re-taking an exam until you’ve completely proven that you’re likely to pass – making an ‘exam guarantee’ just about worthless.

Prometric and VUE exams are in the region of 112 pounds in Great Britain. Why spend so much more on ‘Exam Guarantee’ costs (often hidden in the cost) – when good quality study materials, the proper support and exam preparation systems and a dose of commitment and effort are what’s required.

A skilled and professional consultant (in contrast with a salesperson) will ask questions and seek to comprehend your current situation. This is vital for working out the starting point for your education. If you have a strong background, or maybe some real-world experience (maybe some existing accreditation?) then it’s more than likely the point from which you begin your studies will be different from someone with no background whatsoever. If this is your initial crack at studying to take an IT exam then you may want to cut your teeth on user-skills and software training first.

A great way to keep in touch with your customers in a cost-effective, easy way is to have a newsletter going out to all of your subscribers every month or every two weeks or however often you like really.

This is a technique that can be used by any business in any market sector. Many businesses are excellent at what they do, but nobody knows that they do it.

Company directors and managers have so much going on all the time by the very definition of their jobs that finding subjects to write about, and full producing a professional newsletter every month is an almost impossible concept.

The large workloads of people in these positions usually prohibit them from carrying out these kind of promotions, but there are services available to take most of the labour intensity out of it.

Just one of these is SmartNews, the new service from SmartMarketing. What SmartNews does is create and send out a professional newsletter to all your existing customers AND to possible new ones.

Using this service or a similar one can make the production of these monthly newsletters ten times easier, but writing the actual content is still up to you. It takes around 6 to 8 good, well written/spoken contacts to get to the front of a potential customers mind, so writing page after page of generic text will most likely have no effect whatsoever to anyone. The content on your newsletters must be highly informative and useful information to your target market.

Sending the newsletters by email is not only far more environmentally friendly than traditional methods, but its far quicker and cheaper as well. The fact that its quicker means that neither you or your customers are waiting around for a response from one another for long, and the fact that its so much cheaper speaks for itself really!

Another advantage of sending the newsletter by email is that its far easier to track who has replied to what and when etc. because it is all clearly written in front of you, allowing you to measure the effectiveness of each letter.

With the steady fall in prices of technology, more and more businesses are investing in their training rooms, meeting / boardrooms and general areas. This means that for very low outlay a plasma display can be installed lets say in a reception where a presentation can be designed showing visitors about the company.

Interactive Whiteboards can be installed into meeting or training rooms along with a projector encouraging pro-active sessions. Amongst the many services are: Interactive Whiteboards Plasma Displays Holographic Displays Multimedia Presentations Full Installation Service CCTV Systems

An Interactive Whiteboard is a cost effective way of providing connection to a PC or Laptop or to use as a normal Whiteboard. You can navigate a connected PC and once you have finished with your presentation, you can save and print your work. These systems have been a major success within our client sites and the benefits are appreciated almost immediately.

There are many companies that offer a number of tailor made solutions for presentation systems whether you require the hardware (be it a plasma display or projector) or a PowerPoint type presentation developed we can put together a solution that will meet your needs.

For example some high street locations can benefit from holographic displays that provide a slideshow of information to passers by whilst others require wall or ceiling mount plasma displays.

These companies also procure and install complete network CCTV systems. These systems integrate into your network and allow monitoring and playback from any location.

This type of technology is set to grow and grow in the future and will be more prevalent in both the workplace as well as the class room. This is already starting to be the case in many office spaces and classes but I feel these types of places will continue to be more and more interactive.
