If you write a book, chances are you want it to be successful in order that you are able to continue writing for a living. When you just start out, it may be difficult to be able to afford public relations services to promote your book. So how do you get your work known on little-to-no budget?

Many authors have had the smart idea of writing books about how to promote their books. They are serving their own needs by catering to others just like them. Some books are better than others and some may be just scams. However, you should look at what these authors are doing to get their books bought in the first place. They use new technology which can be free. Use the internet. Create fan sites. Try to link yourself up with as many search engines and online retailers as you can.

You may actually be in a better situation financially if you live in a small town instead of a big city. Someone from a small town getting a book published is big news in that area. Residents will rush out to see what their neighbor was able to create. Local media and papers will focus stories on you, which is always excellent and free advertising. In a big city, no one would care. You must use every single chance you get in order to get your name out there.

You want to give just enough information about the book to make people interested. Do not talk too much about it or give anything away. Be a professional and think about the business of you. Every story or interview is just like a job interview. Do not say anything off-color or make stupid jokes. You do not want to risk alienating a single person. Make sure you are well spoken but do not try to sound ‘too smart’ and risk sounding like an idiot when no one has any clue about what you are talking about. Not everyone knows critical theory or the Laconian or Derrida point of view. Keep it simple and entertaining.

Dress well, too. If you do not dress professionally for public appearances, what makes anyone think that you can write professionally? Play up your contacts, you affiliation with local schools or business or sports teams. Make people proud that you came from their area. Keep in mind that people know your parents or remember you from high school. They want to see what you have done with your life.

Promote yourself as much as you can without becoming irritating. Do television commercials and put up posters. Making deals with local businesses can be a great business move. You just want your book to get out there, even if you are not making much money on it yet. It takes a while for books to pass from hand to hand and for viral advertising to happen.

Access additional tips about appearing on TV shows, Radio Publicity and Business Strategy using the media now. Enjoy the outstanding benefits of publicity and promotion for yourself and your business.

We live in a constant state of change. Many people are calling it The New Normal because it’s now become normal for things to no longer be normal.

Some changes are significant and some aren’t. Some changes are obvious and some are inconspicuous-at least at first. Whether it’s in our business and career or in our family and home, we need to understand and anticipate-as best we can-what change will mean for us.

There are two simple questions that can help us navigate these waters.

1. What’s different from what used to be?

2. What’s still the same?

We have a natural tendency to think things are still the way they were. And they usually aren’t.

It’s easy to get blindsided by something that changed politically, environmentally, socially and culturally. We might have known about the change, but we might not have thought it through to see what the impact would be on us, our business, our family, our finances and our health.

Take a few moments when you can think quietly and answer the two questions above. Dig deep. Think globally as well as locally.

This is not a time to judge what’s changed or not changed. It’s simply a time to notice and record what you notice.

When you’ve done this, ask yourself how each thing that’s changed has affected you and the various aspects of your life-all the things you care about. How does it affect you? DOES it affect you? How MIGHT it affect you? If the things that have remained the same continue to remain the same, will they be helpful or not? I believe that the greatest lever for change is awareness.

My best sense is that the masses of people don’t practice this. And they end up surprised, bewildered and angry.

But as you enter into this practice and do it intentionally over a period of time, you’ll find yourself automatically thinking about change and events and how they will likely affect your world.

You will make more and finer distinctions. You will become more aware, wiser, more resourceful-and better able to cope with and exploit change. And that will be different.

Or are you working for your business?

I hope you’re doing work that you enjoy. Because I believe that if you don’t love what you do, you will lose out to someone who does.

However, just working in your business isn’t enough. Yes, we all have to make sure that orders get fulfilled, phone calls get returned, new prospects contacted and the plethora of things you want to get done. I call it the busyness of business.

But in order to excel, we have to work ON our business-and on ourselves. We have to step back for a better perspective. We have to ask tough questions and be willing to be honest with ourselves.

We try to make several improvements each day. Things like . . .

make the order process faster, easier or more clear

improve one of our reports

create a new one

test a headline for better conversion

automate a process

make website navigation easier

eliminate a step

add value to our membership

simplify a process

We could go on, but I think you get the idea.

We practice and recommend S-O-D-A.

SODA stands for Simplify, Organize, Delegate or Automate. I use that as a reminder to practice CANI-Constant And Never-ending Improvement.

And I don’t feel my day is complete unless we’ve made something better.

Sure there are days when so much is going on, it doesn’t leave much time for self improvement or making our business work better.

How about you? Do you make improvements every day?

Sadly, I find far too many people working harder and harder sawing away at things and not leaving any time to “sharpen the saw”.

Abraham Lincoln said, “If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend the first four hours sharpening the axe”.

We may not use axes in our business, but we have tools and systems that can be sharpened or replaced with something that works better.

It’s gratifying to grow and improve. And it pays off, too.

But you do have to plan for it. You have to give it focus and attention. Otherwise, all the other demands-the busyness-will crowd out making things better.

That’s really what we are all about. Helping you and your business grow is why we’re here. And sometimes it’s as simple as reminding you to take action to improve what you’re doing. It might be sharing a new idea or resource. Or it might be teaching an important principle or concept.

And if you have ideas on how we can better serve you, we will listen and carefully consider your suggestion.

The cleaning industry, while not the most attractive industry to some is nevertheless a rapidly growing multi-billion dollar business in the United States and it offers enterprising individuals unique opportunities to earn a good income. Below we look at how much money it is possible to earn in the cleaning business and what you will have to do to achieve the ’six figure’ earnings level.

When you first start your business, assuming that you are cleaning homes full-time without any help you can expect to earn anywhere between $15,000 and $35,000. For those that study the business though and work on growing a profitable system rather than treating it as a job, then it is possible to make an income of over $100,000 within a relatively short period of time.

Below we have listed ten factors that separate the high income earners from those that struggle to make it in the business.

1) Research your local market and look for sectors that offer the best prospects. Residential cleaning may seem like an obvious choice but it is often very competitive. There are many other market sectors that you can look into that may be under serviced locally.

2) Build a brand for yourself right from the beginning. Develop a branding strategy, grow a respectable brand name and live up to the promise of your brands reputation and you will develop a great reputation with your customers and benefit from referrals.

3) Focus on running your business as efficiently as possible. Look for ways to save money and time wherever possible and study the way that your employees work to find ways that they can be more productive.

4) Realize the importance of having a great sales system. Focus on converting the maximum number of enquiries into new customers.

5) It is easier to sell to your existing customers than it is to find new ones. Develop additional services that you can offer clients regularly or occassionally.

6) Successful cleaning business operators are usually good at leading people. Set out a process for hiring and training staff and learn how to lead them in a way that gives you time to work on business growth instead of getting caught up with day to day chores.

7) Marketing is one important key to ensuring your success. Watch other successful companies in action and learn from them while still remaining as original as possible. Test a variety of advertising methods and track results and then weed out the methods that don’t perform and focus more on those that are cost effective.
8) Understand how word of mouth marketing can bring new clients to you if you treat clients well and give them lots of reasons to talk about you.

9) Be persistent and never give up. Growing a business is not easy and you will definitely run into obstacles along the way. Understand that if you keep refining your systems and learning from your failures that you will inevitably succeed.

10) Learn as much as you can about business administration in general and the cleaning industry so that you can stay competitive and are consistently improving.

Could you set up a highly profitable cleaning venture and earn a six figure salary?

One of the most important pursuits a person can undertake is education. When you have pursued an expanded education, you will find that doors begin to open and you can have a life that is full of possibilities. Education not only teaches you facts and dates but also opens your horizons by honing you talent and skills. It is not enough however to simply go and take classes at the local college, your approach to the entire field of educations is vitally important. Therefore, you need to understand the difference between simply being a student and being learned.

Frankly, there is a very large difference between the processes of a learner versus that of a student. The product of the education is the student’s main focus. That simply means the education becomes the end result. A learner though is concerned with the unrestricted, organic process that will shape them into a unique individual.

To better illustrate this point let us now look at an example of the students approach to learning. A student will sign up for a class, takes notes and then studies to pass the tests that are given. At the end, the student will get a grade point for the work completed and then receive their diploma or degree. The entire process is mechanical. Students are encouraged to learn by rote memorization of facts and this will only take you to a certain level.

A person who is a learner will absorb the information. They will engage in a class to see what they like and what they dislike. They will discover where their strengths and weaknesses are. They will develop an outlook on their potential profession as well as life in general based upon what they experience. In time, they become a fully realized individual thanks to their learning experience.

As you can see, there are many more benefits to being a learner as opposed to being a student. However, society in general places so much emphasis on the student aspect of the process, perhaps because of all the awards and certificates that come with it. Diplomas and degrees are valuable but this is a limited value when you consider their effect on the individual’s development.

Also, a student seems to cease to exist once he/she leaves an establishment of learning. Once the diploma or degree has been achieved, then there is no need to be a student. Again, a student is a role one plays more akin to a task than to personal development.

Leanrers are free to learn in all kinds of places. The learner will perpetually seek to learn and experience new things in any environment. They do not see an education as being stamped with an end date and an address. Learners will learn in all environments throughout their entire life. It is simple to deduce which method will carry you further in life, strive to be learned and not just a student.

Being a student is not all bad in fact, most people will have to follow the path of traditional education to some degree. The key is to blend the student aspect of the process with the capacity to become a seasoned learner. The greatest results will be seen when you can successfully master this process.

The city, in which I live, has been quite helpful to me. I had started as a small plumber in this city. Today I own a big plumbing shop in the heart of the town. I have ten people who are working under me as plumbers. They are my permanent employees. Apart from this, I have some daily wage workers who work for me on call.

The plumbers who work for me are quite apt and they like to work with me and like to be guided by me. Our growth chart is a proof of our success and we plan to expand our business in other areas of the town also. We have a very hectic work schedule and we have varying working hours every day depending upon the plumbing issues that we get.

The daily wages workers are extremely generous to us as well. This is a two way process. I do take very good care of my employees. I also help them regularly in enhancing their skills. This is very much required in order to sustain the day to day competition. In order to be on top, I went abroad to study plumbing.

The citys crowd knows us as fast plumbers. The reason for this, is our quick and in time services. We are simply a phone call away. We provide round the year services. In fact, my whole family helps me in my work. All my cousins are along with me in the same business.

Hard work is the key to success. There are no two ways about it. We work quite long everyday in order to meet our deadlines. This is the reason, that I have become successful today.

We are best payers in the town. All my employees are extremely wonderful and we all work with complete unity. In fact my daily wages workers have best experience with us so far.

There are hoards of plumbing houses in our town .And in recent poll; we got the highest numbers of votes for being the most popular plumbers of the town. It has made me happy, immensely.

My hard work, my passion for my work has made me the most known plumber of the town. This is one thing I would like to share with you. Rest, when you drop in our city you will come to know more about our popularity as plumbers.
