Will Teens Be Able To Get Jobs This Summer?

The economy is worse than it has been in years and people are losing their jobs everyday. This does not bode well for teen that will be out looking for jobs this summer and beyond. In fact, because of the bad economy, more teen than in prior year may be job hunting and with fewer prospects of finding one.

Teens need summer jobs for many reasons but one of those is to stay out of trouble. An employed teen has much less likelihood of getting into trouble because they are gainfully employed and earning money. Without the summer jobs, are teens going to be running rampant throughout our streets causing trouble? Lets all hope something changes economy wise between then and now.

Right now, many adults are willing to take the low paying and low skilled jobs that are usually taken by teenagers. This is because many adults just cant find anything else and something is much better than no job at all. This will take away additional jobs that would have gone to teens if the economy were in better shape. This is an unfortunate circumstance but one we face nevertheless.

Teens can use the Internet for two money-making purposes. While there aren’t many jobs for teen online, there are a few ways to pick up some extra spending cash. Filling out surveys is one of them and most teens should be able to do that and a few other things like it to make some extra cash.

The second important use for the Internet is in the job search itself. Most employers spend much of their time looking for job candidates online now and teenagers should learn how this is done. All older teens should start to put a resume together of their accomplishments and learn how to submit it to job search sites online. Additionally, they can learn how to search for jobs in their areas online rather than making the rounds on foot or by car like they might have in years past.
